Job Summary
The General Manager Supply Chain is responsible for end-to-end supply chain management including procurement, production planning, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and distribution. The role ensures efficient product availability, optimized inventory levels, cost control, and service excellence across manufacturing plants, depots, distributors, and retail channels.
The candidate should have strong experience in FMCG or beverage/bottling operations, managing high-volume, fast-moving products and complex distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Strategy
- Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Optimize supply chain processes to ensure cost efficiency, product availability, and service levels.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, automation, and digital supply chain transformation.
2. Demand Planning & S&OP
- Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process across sales, production, and distribution teams.
- Forecast demand based on market trends, sales data, and promotions.
- Ensure accurate demand planning to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
3. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Oversee sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect materials.
- Develop strategic supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Ensure cost optimization, quality standards, and timely supplier deliveries.
4. Production Planning & Plant Coordination
- Coordinate with manufacturing plants for production planning and capacity utilization.
- Align production schedules with demand forecasts.
- Ensure smooth coordination between plant operations and distribution network.
5. Warehousing & Inventory Management
- Manage warehouse operations, inventory control, and stock accuracy.
- Optimize warehouse layout, storage, and handling systems.
- Implement inventory policies to maintain optimal safety stock levels.
6. Logistics & Distribution
- Manage transportation and distribution network including depots, distributors, and retailers.
- Optimize routes, freight costs, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure on-time delivery and high service levels.
7. Bottling Operations Coordination
- Coordinate supply chain activities with bottling plants and co-packers.
- Ensure timely availability of packaging materials, concentrates, and bottles.
- Manage returnable packaging cycles (crates, bottles) if applicable.
8. Technology & Systems
- Implement and manage ERP, WMS, and supply chain analytics tools.
- Drive digital initiatives for real-time inventory tracking and supply chain visibility.
9. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor supply chain teams across procurement, planning, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Develop strong leadership pipeline and ensure cross-functional collaboration.
10. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage supply chain risks including disruptions, supplier dependency, and logistics constraints.

- On-time in-full (OTIF) delivery

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Administration
- MBA in Operations / Supply Chain preferred.
