Role Description

Position: General Manager 3PL Supply Chain

Industry: Logistics & Supply Chain

Experience Required: Minimum 10 years (with strong PTL exposure)

Preferred Industry Exposure: Automotive

Location: Chennai ( Need for Travel across South)

Strategic & Business Leadership

• Develop and execute business strategies to scale PTL operations across regions.
• Drive P&L ownership and ensure profitability targets are achieved.
• Identify growth opportunities in the automotive logistics segment.
• Strengthen relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 & Tier 2 automotive suppliers.

PTL Operations Management

• Oversee end-to-end PTL consignment operations including:
• Route planning & optimization
• Hub & spoke network management
• Load planning and consolidation
• TAT adherence and SLA management
• Ensure high service reliability and minimize transit damages.
• Implement cost optimization and freight efficiency initiatives.

Automotive Supply Chain Handling (Preferred)

• Manage time-sensitive automotive shipments (Just-In-Time / Just-In-Sequence models).
• Ensure compliance with automotive quality and safety standards.
• Handle plant deliveries, vendor pickups, and line-side deliveries.
• Maintain zero line-stoppage culture.

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead cross-functional teams (Operations, Warehouse, Transport, Commercial).
• Build high-performance teams across regions.
• Collaborate with sales for key account acquisition and retention.
• Manage transporter/vendor contracts and negotiations.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Process Excellence & Technology

• Drive digitization initiatives.
• Establish SOPs and KPIs for PTL performance tracking.
• Monitor metrics: OTIF, cost per ton/km, damage ratio, vehicle utilization, claim ratio.
