General Manager – Mining Operations and Fleet Management (India)

Position Overview

We areseekinga highly experienced General Manager -Mining Operations and Fleet Management (India)to lead and oversee operations acrossmultiple mining sites in India. This roleis responsible forstrategic planning, operational governance, commercial delivery, site leadership, workforce management, stakeholder engagement, and driving performance excellence across all assigned locations.

The position requires a strongtrack recordinmining operations,multisite management,large onsite workforce leadership, andtechnology-enabled fleet / equipment operations. The General Manager will be based inHyderabad, with approximately50% travelto mine sites and customer locations across India.

Key Responsibilities

1. Multi-Mine Site Operational Leadership

• Provide complete operational oversight for multiple mine sites across India.
• Ensure safety, production, quality, compliance, and operational uptime targets are met.
• Drive site-level execution excellence aligned with corporate strategy.
• Implement SOPs, process improvements, and industry best practices across all locations.

2. Fleet / Equipment / Technology Operations (Mandatory)

• Oversee fleet deployment,utilization, health, and optimization across mine sites.
• Ensure effective maintenance, lifecycle management, and uptime improvement.
• Support integration and usage of technology systems (FMS, GPS analytics, equipment monitoring, automation tools).

3. Workforce & On-Site Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop large cross-functional site teams (operations, engineers, supervisors, technicians, support).
• Foster a highperformance, safety-focused, and accountable work culture.
• Ensure continuous learning, capability development, and performance management.

4. Client Relationship, Governance & Deliverables

• Own endtoend client communication and relationship management for all mining customers.
• Ensure seamless delivery of commitments, SLAs, service quality, and operational outcomes.
• Address escalations, operational challenges, and stakeholderissues proactively.

5. Strategic Planning & Performance Management

• Develop and execute operational strategies for maximizing productivity and resourceutilization.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and operational KPIs.
• Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.

6. Expansion, Growth & Business Support

• Identifyopportunities to scale operations to new mine sites and regions.
• Support tendering, proposals, technical inputs, and business development activities.
• Collaborate with leadership on strategic growth initiatives.

7. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

• Ensure 100% compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Drivestrongsafety culture across all sites and functions.
• Implement proactive risk mitigation, audits, and continuous safety improvements.

8. Travel Requirement

• Approximately50% travelacross India for site visits, client meetings, audits, and operational reviews.

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

• 10+ yearsof experience in mining or heavy industrial operations; multi-site experience preferred.
• Strong leadership history managing large onsite teams and crossfunctional groups.
• Proven experience infleet / heavy equipment operations(mandatory).
• Strong understanding of mining operations, safety standards, and compliance norms in India.
• Handson, execution-driven leader with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in demanding site environments and deliver under pressure.
