Job Title: General Manager Human Resources (South India)

Location: Chennai


About The Role

Our client a leading Domestic Hospitality group with a strong presence across Leisure Destinations in India is looking to appoint a seasoned General Manager Human Resources (South India) responsible for leading the overall HR strategy, execution, and governance across all managed hotels and resorts in SOUTH India, aligning human capital initiatives with business goals. This role acts as a strategic partner to senior leadership, driving workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, compliance, and HR operations across clusters and properties. This position is suited for a seasoned HR leader with Multi-Property and Regional experience, ready to step into an enterprise-level leadership role.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives across all properties.
  • Advise senior leadership on organizational development, change management, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Lead workforce and succession planning, as well as organizational design projects.

Talent Management & Development

  • Oversee talent acquisition strategies across properties to ensure timely hiring.
  • Design and deliver leadership development and learning programs across all levels.
  • Build a strong leadership pipeline across clusters.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Foster a high-performance, values-driven culture.
  • Drive employee engagement programs, communication frameworks, and grievance redressal mechanisms.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across all properties.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Standardize HR processes, SOPs, and HRIS systems across locations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and labor laws across states.
  • Drive audits, HR metrics, dashboards, and reporting for leadership reviews.

HR Business Partnering

  • Partner with Property GMs, Functional Heads, Operations Leadership, and Owners to align HR strategies with business needs.
  • Support property HR heads on retention, performance management, and workforce challenges.

Change Management & Integration

  • Lead HR efforts for new property openings, rebranding, or transitions.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent from a reputed institute.
  • 1215 years of HR leadership experience, with at least 23 years in a Regional /Multi Property HR role in Hospitality Industry.
  • Proven experience managing large HR teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliance, and HR operations.
  • Expertise in organizational design, leadership development, and talent strategy.
