Job Description

Location: Ahmedabad/Daman

Reporting To: VP, Finance


Role Requirement

  • Full time Graduation + CA
  • 22+ years experience in Power sector (1st preference is from power distribution sector, followed by generation & transmission having strong regulatory and legal exposure)
  • Hands-on understanding of tariff conditions
  • Sound knowledge of laws and regulatory frameworks


Role Responsibility

  • Working experience of managing finance department of large sized listed utility .
  • Directing, supporting, and demonstrating leadership to achieve intended outcome/ results of established management systems
  • Establish departmental objectives and periodically review the performance status and continual improvement
  • Define roles, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities of team
  • Review compliance status for all applicable legal and other requirements
  • Evaluate competency/skill requirements of employees.
  • Review and approve training needs and departmental training plan
  • Review of non-conformance and approve corrective/preventive action
  • To oversee the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Accounting in terms of related accounting policies, Accounting Standards and variance analysis.
  • To analyze the CAPEX & OPEX in terms of Budgetary control
  • To oversee the Collection and Treasury functions to establish, implement, maintain and improve the processes appropriately to achieve the desired outputs.
  • To respond Indirect tax and Direct tax matters to Corporate
  • To oversee the Pay roll and Statutory payments from a compliance perspective.
  • Commanding knowledge of electricity laws and MoP notifications, Regulations of various State commissions etc.
  • To have an expert knowledge of electricity regulations, experience of analysing the regulations while ensuring Regulatory Filings in time i.e. Tariff petitions, Projections for MYT, APR/ARR, Quarterly FPPPA calculations, Regulatory Compliance Reports for GERC & CEA.
  • Understanding of commercial and regulatory aspects of power purchase agreements.
  • Experience of dealing with commercial matters, agreements etc.
  • To co-ordinate with Statutory, Internal, Tax and other auditors and to ensure that the same could be conducted effectively and in appropriate manner to get the desired level of internal control.
  • To identify the KPIs for each department and monitor the same periodically to improve their performance and productivity.
  • Supporting other relevant roles to demonstrate leadership that applies to areas of responsibilities.
  • Practical experience of dealing in direct tax and indirect tax matters including return filing with Income tax department, GST department etc., handling departmental audit etc.

Authority

  • To establish, maintain, and review the business processes for better performance.
  • To sanction the allocated CAPEX in accordance with the approved budget.
  • To Approve the writing -off the asset proposed by user departments


Accountability

  • Accountable to the management for the performance of the department.
  • Accountable for statutory and legal compliances.
  • Accountable for the implementation of IMS under various standards and monitor the continual improvement of the system.
