Hiring: General Manager Manufacturing Engineering

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic General Manager Manufacturing Engineering to lead our manufacturing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in new product development, process optimization, and end-to-end EV component manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Process & Assembly Engineering:

• Design robust manufacturing processes ensuring high repeatability and assembly readiness.
• Lead on-time build of pre-pilot, pilot, and SOP batches.
• Identify and close DFA/DFM gaps; ensure compliance of electronic components.
• End-of-Line readiness and proficiency in CAN communication and in-process test equipment.
• Troubleshoot quality issues using tools like 7QC, Why-Why analysis, DRBFM/PRBFM, RAR, etc.
• Monitor and implement assembly-related ECRs.

Supplier Engagement:

• Establish sub-assembly processes at supplier sites for new components.
• Ensure systems, IPOs, SOPs, Q alerts, and Pokayoke check sheets are in place.

Process Optimization & Equipment Development:

• Analyze and refine manufacturing processes to meet cost and quality benchmarks.
• Lead tooling procurement and equipment development/upgrades.
• Conceptualize and lead cost-reduction initiatives.

Team Leadership & Project Management:

• Supervise and mentor teams to ensure successful execution of projects.
• Ensure documentation readiness (TD, BOM, IPO, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage large projects (material handling automation, MES, PokaYoke, etc.) from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Technical Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of PCB handling: Fuses, LED, TFT, Reflow/Wave/Robotic/Manual soldering.
• Proficiency in software tools like Altium & MATLAB for DFM & DFA.
• Experience in quality systems for EV electronics: BMS, Motor Control Units, charging circuits, microcontrollers, digital instrument clusters.
• APQP, DFA/DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA, Lean concepts, MES, IoT, VSM, facility & strategic layout planning.
• Automation/semi-automation, material handling, process costing, VA/VE, operator/line balancing.
• Strong problem-solving using 8D, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE.
