GCP Platform Engineer

About the Company

We are looking for an experienced GCP Platform Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in building, operating, and optimizing data and cloud platforms on Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of GCP data services, infrastructure as code, automation, and performance tuning, and should be able to clearly explain service behavior, configuration trade-offs, and operational impacts.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data and platform solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on development and operations using:
• Terraform
• Dataproc
• Dataflow
• BigQuery
• Pub/Sub
• Cloud Composer
• Google Cloud Storage (GCS)
• Implement infrastructure using Terraform and follow Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
• Automate operational tasks using Python and Shell scripting.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance, cost, and reliability.
• Analyze and explain the behavior, performance characteristics, and limitations of GCP services and their configuration parameters.
• Tune and optimize system configurations to improve throughput, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using GCP native tools (Cloud Monitoring, Logging, etc.).
• Work closely with data engineers, application teams, and architects to support platform needs.
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices across the platform.
