Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Software Development Engineer (SDE I) to join our Data Platform team. In this role, you will work on large-scale data systems (petabyte-level) and build reliable, high-performance data pipelines.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to develop scalable solutions, ensure data accuracy, and maintain system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Core Development & Coding

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Spark (Scala/Java)
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Implement new features following engineering best practices
• Write unit and integration tests

SQL & Data Analytics

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries (joins, window functions, CTEs)
• Perform data analysis and validation
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions

Troubleshooting & Reliability

• Debug pipeline failures and fix data issues
• Analyze logs and improve performance of Spark jobs
• Monitor pipelines to ensure data availability

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 13 years (or up to 6 years) in software development / data engineering

Technical Skills

• Strong coding in Scala / Java / Python
• Strong SQL knowledge
• Understanding of Apache Spark / Hadoop
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills

Education

• Bachelors / Masters degree in:
• Computer Science
• IT
• Engineering or related field

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data analytics or visualization
• Basic knowledge of Machine Learning
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services / Google Cloud Platform
• Knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes
