Garment Merchandiser

Position Overview: The Garment Merchandiser will be responsible for coordinating and managing the entire process of garment production from initial concept to final delivery. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accessory Coordination:

• Ensure all necessary accessories for each style are easily accessible and organized.
• Arrange accessory pieces with vendors as per the requirements of each style.

1. Vendor Communication:

• Forward CAD images to vendors for layering and ensure clear understanding.
• Maintain daily follow-up with vendors to update the status of each style.

1. Pre-Production Sample (PPS) Follow-up:

• Track the progress of pre-production samples.
• Ensure timely submission of a complete sample after fit approval.

1. Fabric Management:

• Provide cutting details and immediately return any remaining fabric after cutting.
• Follow up with vendors to return balance fabric and completed pieces as quickly as possible.

1. Vendor Visits and Quality Control:

• Conduct regular visits to vendors to ensure proper updating of issued styles.
• Perform in-line quality control checks to maintain production standards.

1. Costing and Billing:

• Prepare final cost sheets for each style.
• Update data for individual vendors and styles.
• Check, verify, and process vendor bills for the billing accountant.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in garment merchandising or a related field.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant CAD software.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in textile merchandising, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in vendor management and quality control in the garment industry.

Work Environment:

• This role requires both office work and regular visits to vendor locations.
