Technical/Functional Skills

Strong domain knowledge of higher education processes across Admissions, Registration, Academic History, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and General Student (may not necessarily have all)
Functional expertise in Ellucian Banner (or similar SIS/ERP ) modules (example: Banner Student, Banner Financial Aid, Banner Accounts Receivable)
Hands-on experience with Ethos (or similar) integration , Banner Admin Pages (INB/Banner 9), and Self-Service components
Understanding of SIS data models related to student records
Ability to write functional specifications, map business processes to Banner functionality, and validate outcomes
Familiarity with student lifecycle workflows and academic policy implementation within SIS
Knowledge of SQL for querying Banner tables and validating data for testing or reporting (good to have)
Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in higher education (e.g., Title IV for Financial Aid)
Experience with testing tools and methods for system upgrades and patch deployments

Experience Required

510 years of overall experience in higher education domain with at least 35 years in Ellucian Banner SIS implementations or support
Prior involvement in at least one end-to-end Banner implementation, upgrade, or cloud migration project (good to have)
Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams during discovery, design and deployment phases , including technical leads, business users, and project managers
Exposure to working in Agile or hybrid delivery models
Experience in client-facing roles for North American higher education institutions preferred

Roles & Responsibilities

Engage with institutional stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate business requirements for Banner SIS modules
Conduct fit-gap analysis, process mapping, and configuration of Banner modules such as Admissions, Registration, or Financial Aid
Collaborate with technical teams to translate functional requirements into technical specifications
Support data migration validation, testing cycles (SIT, UAT), and production rollout activities
Provide functional consulting during Ellucian upgrades, enhancements, or new module deployments
Troubleshoot functional issues and guide clients on best practices aligned with Banner capabilities
Deliver training, create user documentation, and contribute to knowledge transfer sessions for institutional staff
Act as a subject matter expert and support pre-sales or proposal activities as required.
