Hiring: Agronomist Controlled Environment Agriculture (Polyhouse)

Christ College, Bangalore has built a 720 sq. m next-generation, data-driven polyhouse that is not just a growing space


It is a living laboratory, a **prototype for Indias future food systems, and a ground where we attempt what **no institutional greenhouse in India has dared to attempt.


We are now inviting applications for a Full-Time Agronomist who is not looking for just another job


but wants to make history in Indias Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) landscape.

We believe that every successful CEA system begins not with technology, but with deep observation and respect for Mother Nature:


* How plants breathe


* How they respond to light, heat, humidity, and CO


* How water moves through a substrate

* How microclimate and biology speak a language we must learn before we design solutions


Only when we honour Natures laws do we apply engineering to amplify, not replace, her intelligence.

We measure, decode, and engineer outcomes while staying deeply aligned with natural plant behaviour.


Here, you will work with:


* Temperature, humidity, and VPD as natures communication signals


* PAR & PPFD not just as numbers, but as the plants language of energy


* EC, drain EC, and substrate behaviour as windows into root health


* CO as a driver of controlled photosynthesis


* Multi-fertigation systems tuned to the biology of each crop


You will join a rare ecosystem that approaches farming with scientific rigour AND ecological sensitivity.


## What You Will Lead


* Design and execute crop trials rooted in natural plant behaviour


* Track and analyse key environmental and biological parameters (Temp, RH, PAR, PPFD, EC, Drain EC, CO, substrate EC)


* Build intelligent multi-fertigation strategies based on real crop signals


* Mentor students in both scientific methods and ecological understanding


* Convert daily observations into research insights and academic contributions


* Innovate in hydroponics, climate control, and sustainable precision cultivation


Who Were Looking For candidates


* 23+ years of practical greenhouse / CEA experience


* Strong understanding of measuring & interpreting environmental parameters


* Experience with multi-fertigation systems and nutrient modelling


* Curiosity to understand plants as living organisms, not industrial outputs


* Ability to connect nature + data + engineering


* A desire to contribute to something long-term, meaningful, and pioneering
