Full Stack WordPress Engineer - PHP coding within WordPress

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior WordPress Engineer to lead the development, enhancement, and optimization of our web platforms. This role is responsible for building secure, scalable, and high-performance WordPress solutions that support our business objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy complex web applications using WordPress, custom PHP frameworks, Laravel, CodeIgniter, and MERN stack technologies.
• Build and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs within WordPress and PHP-based environments to support seamless data exchange and advanced functionality.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Optimize applications to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Conduct regular code reviews, identify improvement areas, and promote industry best practices.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and web development standards.
• Ensure the technical feasibility and accuracy of UI/UX designs.
• Perform performance tuning, automation, usability enhancements, and system balancing.
• Work closely with designers and development teams to ensure effective implementation of web content and applications.
• Provide expertise throughout the development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently to maintain system stability.
• Contribute to system architecture and design decisions.
• Participate in requirements gathering, technical planning, and effort estimation.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and coding standards.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure clean, efficient, and well-documented codebases.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Web Engineer or in a similar technical role.
• Strong expertise in WordPress, custom PHP development, Laravel, CodeIgniter, and MERN stack technologies.
• Hands-on experience building and integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs, particularly within WordPress and PHP environments.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks/libraries.
• Solid understanding of web application architecture, development workflows, and best practices.
• Experience with web services and third-party API integrations.
• Strong knowledge of database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work productively in team environments.
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior developers.
