About Vetted

Vetted is an early-stage pet care super app reshaping how Indian pet parents access health, wellness, and lifestyle services for their pets. Our platform integrates key features like:

• Online veterinary consultations
• E-commerce for pet pharmacy and products
• Service bookings (grooming, boarding, taxis)
• Location-based listings for pet-friendly venues and providers

Were currently focused on launching a functional MVP to support our seed fundraising efforts. With UX/UI design already in place, were looking for a committed technical partner to build, ship, and evolve our web and mobile platforms into a scalable product becoming an integral member of the founding team.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on role for a full-stack developer with a strong track record of building scalable web and mobile applications ideally in health-tech, marketplaces, or consumer e-commerce.

Youll be responsible for:

• Developing both the web and mobile apps (iOS + Android)
• Architecting the backend and database infrastructure
• Integrating third-party APIs (e.g., payments, maps, video, logistics)
• Deploying a robust MVP and supporting future iterations

This is a high-ownership opportunity for someone who wants to help shape product, tech, and long-term vision in a fast-growing consumer vertical.

Key Responsibilities

• Web & Mobile Development
• Build and launch the Vetted web app and mobile app (iOS + Android)
• Develop responsive, accessible, and performant front-end components based on UI specifications
• Ensure smooth cross-platform compatibility across devices, browsers, and OS versions
• Manage App Store and Play Store submissions (including provisioning, certificates, review process)
• Implement bug tracking, issue management, and basic QA/debug cycles
• Set up push notifications for reminders, updates, and transactional events

Backend Development & Integrations

Architect scalable backend services and APIs to support:

• User registration and authentication
• Real-time appointment booking with integrated video consultations
• E-commerce workflows (product listings, cart, checkout)
• Partner/vendor dashboards (vets, stores, groomers, service providers)
• Admin dashboard with basic CMS capabilities
• Role-based access control (RBAC)
• Integrate with third-party tools for:
• Video calling (e.g., Twilio, Agora)
• Payments (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe)
• Maps and location-based listings
• Courier/delivery APIs for last-mile logistics
• Set up and manage:
• Database architecture (SQL or NoSQL)
• CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and staging environments
• Error logging and crash monitoring (e.g., Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics)
• Analytics tools for usage tracking and product insights
• Ensure secure data handling, API rate limiting, input validation, and privacy compliance (as applicable)

Tech Stack & Skills

Frontend:

• Web: React.js, Next.js
• Mobile: React Native (preferred), Flutter or native iOS/Android (bonus)
• Responsive and accessible UI development
• Familiarity with component-based front-end architecture and state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand)

Backend:

• Runtime: Node.js (preferred), Express.js or equivalent
• API Design: RESTful services (GraphQL experience is a bonus)
• Databases: Firebase Firestore, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
• Authentication: JWT, OAuth, or Firebase Auth
• Realtime support: WebSockets (if needed), or integration with video SDKs
• Secure handling of user data, transactions, and file/image uploads
• Experience with cloud platforms: Firebase, AWS, or Supabase

DevOps & Tooling

• Version control: Git, GitHub
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or equivalent
• Monitoring: Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry
• App deployment & store submission: iOS App Store, Google Play Console
• Testing: Manual + automated testing experience (unit/integration tests) bonus
• API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman, or similar)
• CMS integration (e.g., Strapi, Sanity, or custom-built) nice to have
• Prior experience with:
• Telehealth platforms
• Multi-vendor marketplaces
• Service booking ecosystems is a strong bonus

Who You Are

• 4+ years of hands-on development experience
• Previously built and deployed full-stack apps (end-to-end ownership)
• Startup or 0-to-1 product experience preferred
• Comfortable owning backend logic, integrations, and infra decisions
• Strong communicator and collaborator
• Excited by the pet care, wellness, or consumer tech space
• Hungry to build something from scratch, with high-growth potential

Compensation

• Equity only (no salary at this stage)
• Opportunity to transition into Head of Engineering role based on performance.
• Salaried position post-fundraising

Location & Working Style

• Remote-first, with a preference for Bangalore-based candidates for occasional in-person sessions
• Flexible hours with regular check-ins and milestone-based progress
• Report directly to CTO.
