Role Description

As a member of the Product Development (Data Science & Engineering) team at Daybreak, you will be instrumental in building robust, scalable, and AI-native software products. Your contributions will power enterprise-quality applications, platforms, and engineering services, as we shape the future of AI-driven solutions for the digital supply chain.

You will work at the intersection of software engineering and data science, collaborating on reusable, configurable, and reliable products. Youll tackle core challenges in scalability, observability, and performance, creating software that is ready to grow and make an impact globally. Since truly AI-native software is still an emerging field, youll be solving uncharted problems, exploring innovative paths, and helping define this new frontier.

Our team is a cross-functional group of Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and UI Engineers committed to building a unified AI platform that supports multiple enterprise-grade AI applications. The platform simplifies end-to-end workflows for creating, deploying, and managing AI at scale including distributed data processing, MLOps, observability, and low-latency analytics.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will:

• Design and implement end-to-end workflows across data ingestion, processing, model training, inference, monitoring, and visualization.
• Build complex UI applications featuring interactive data visualizations, performant data tables, and co-piloting agents.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to frame open-ended business problems and design pragmatic, maintainable solutions.
• Write, test, and maintain high-quality code for our user-facing Decision System application.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers and interns.
• Work with Tech Leads to break down epics and user stories into actionable engineering tasks.
• Identify and drive improvements to the codebase, developer experience, and engineering practices.
• Partner with QA to define test plans and ensure quality releases.
• Experience with Orchestration tools like Dagster, Airflow and data pipeline tools (ETL/Data Engineering)
• Strong understanding of OO design principles, microservices architecture

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade software in a team.
• Experience building APIs with backend frameworks in Python, Python web frameworks
• Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS, and ReactJS frontend framework
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript builds tools (e.g., Babel, Webpack).
• Experience building interactive data visualizations with frameworks like D3.js.
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with version control and Git-based workflows (e.g., trunk-based development).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Experience collaborating with team members through code reviews.
• Experience with Orchestration tools like Dagster, Airflow and data pipeline tools (ETL/Data Engineering)
• Willingness and ability to use AI-assisted development tools.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Working knowledge of statistics, probability and machine learning.
• Familiarity with unit testing and QA best practices.
• Exposure to Python big data tools like PySpark, NumPy, etc.
• Deep familiarity with the React ecosystem and state management patterns
