Why

Everyone worries about the dooms-day in climate change which is expected to occur in the 2050s. However, there's one doom's day which is the reality for millions of people around the world today. Air pollution takes more than 7 Million lives globally every single year. Over 5% of premature children death occur due to air pollution in developing countries. Everyone has relied on governments or experts to solve the problem, but most solutions up until today have either been too expensive or too ineffective. Praan is an attempt at making the future cleaner, healthier, and safer for the generations to come.

However, the nuances in these solutions serve as high barriers for usability if the hardware, software, user interfaces, brochures, manuals, videos, animations, and other marketing materials arent able to convey the concepts simply and visually. Further, with high emphasis on design, its imperative that the aspiration Praan hopes to build with its products in the minds of customers, is actually accomplished with every aspect of design. As a full-stack designer, you will work on everything design at Praan - hardware products, test set-ups, hardware accessories, packaging, software (UI/UX), AI-interactions, technical brochures, technical animations, branding, merchandising, marketing materials, social media collaterals, and other digital interfaces across everything Praan.

Job Description

• Develop product concepts via user requirement understanding, feature mapping, sketching, designing, rendering, prototyping - balancing both form and function, considering user needs, market trends, aesthetic appeal and manufacturing processes
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to create physical models, prototypes, and functional mockups to test usability, ergonomics, and functionality
• Develop and deliver intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and user-centered designs for web and mobile platforms from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes
• Conduct thorough research, user testing, and usability studies to gather insights and feedback, iterating on designs to improve user experience
• Partner with the Founders Office and Marketing teams to create visually compelling 2D and 3D assets, icons, illustrations, and infographics to support marketing, UI, and content requirements
• Create dynamic animations for product features, promotional videos, and marketing materials
• Create detailed storyboards that visually communicate product concepts, user flows, and feature interactions for presentations or promotional content
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, marketing teams, and developers to ensure a cohesive design approach across physical and digital product offerings
• Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, guidelines, specifications, and best practices for future reference and scalability
• Drive Praans product packaging across both B2B and B2C segments
• Own Praans merchandising to always be up to date with internal products, stories, and vision to ensure that the team is always representing outside, what is the latest within the company
• Manage design projects end-to-end, balancing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines, ensuring that design phases are aligned with overall project timelines

Skill Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Design (Product Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication Design, or a related field)
• Minimum of 2 year of experience designing both physical products and digital interfaces, with a focus on user-centered design
• Expertise in CAD software (e.g., Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling, prototyping, and detailed product design
• Experience with UI/UX design tools including Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch
• Strong knowledge of visual communication design and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Hands-on experience with product composition and animation, including proficiency with video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Blender, and Keyshot
• Ability to create and iterate on both physical and digital prototypes, including testing user interactions and product usability to refine design solutions
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

Good to Have

• Experience working in a hardware/deep-tech hardware startup
• Familiarity with sustainable materials and design principles
• Experience in videography and product presentation
