Frontend Developer [Internship]

Sequoia Print is a packaging prototyping and printing R&D studio based in Kolkata. We work at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and software to build better systems for packaging production.

Our focus areas include:

• Packaging prototyping and paperboard printing
• Advanced offset printing workflows
• Prepress automation
• Data-driven production systems

We are building internal software tools to modernize how print manufacturing works, from client onboarding and job estimation to machine planning and production dashboards.

This role is an opportunity to help build those systems from the ground up.

Role Description

This is a 3-month internship role for a Frontend Developer at Sequoia Print Pvt. Ltd., located on-site in the Kolkata metropolitan area. As a Frontend Developer Intern, you will work closely with the development team to design, build, and optimize user interfaces using modern web technologies. Responsibilities include transforming design mockups into functional web features, ensuring cross-device responsiveness, collaborating with back-end developers to integrate user-facing elements, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth web application performance. You will translate workflows from the factory floor into clean, intuitive web interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern web interfaces for internal tools
• Build responsive and intuitive dashboards for production systems
• Collaborate with the founder and engineering team to translate real workflows into digital products
• Integrate front end applications with backend APIs and databases
• Create reusable UI components and maintain a clean codebase
• Participate in product thinking and interface design
• Continuously improve the usability of internal systems

Required Skills

1. Understanding of UI/UX design principles
2. Strong proficiency in JavaScript
3. Experience with modern frameworks such as React / Next.js
4. Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design
5. Experience working with REST APIs
6. Ability to build clean and maintainable UI components
7. Basic understanding of Git and collaborative development

Bonus Skills (Not Mandatory)

1. Experience with Firebase / Firestore
2. Experience with data dashboards or analytics interfaces
3. Experience working on internal tools or SaaS products
4. Interest in manufacturing, design, or industrial systems

You will not be building generic interfaces.

You will be building software systems for a real manufacturing environment. Your work will directly affect how physical products are produced.
