Freelance Solutions Architect- Gen AI

Our client, a leading global specialist in energy management and automation is looking to engage with a Consultant.

The primary objective is to engineer a secure, scalable Infrastructure Backbone on AWS designed to power a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) AI system for Human Resources. This backbone must serve as a centralized 'intelligence layer' that ingests sensitive HR documentation and provides high-accuracy, grounded responses. Critically, this infrastructure must be integrator-ready, featuring a robust API architecture that allows the AI to be surfaced within existing HRIS platforms and via Chrome/Edge Browser Extensions (Manifest V3) to provide on-demand HR insights directly within the user's browser workflow.

Key responsibilities:

AWS Back-End Infrastructure:

• AWS Mastery: Proficiency in VPC networking (PrivateLink, Subnets, Endpoints), IAM (Roles/Policies), and RDS (MySQL management and "Read Uncommitted" configurations).
• Generative AI (RAG): Experience with Amazon Bedrock, specifically setting up Knowledge Bases and Vector Databases (OpenSearch Serverless).
• Orchestration: Advanced Python for AWS Lambda. They must know how to use LangChain or LlamaIndex to manage the "Text-to-SQL" and "Summarization" logic flows.
• Security: Experience with AWS Secrets Manager and KMS to ensure HR data is encrypted and credentials are never hardcoded.

Front End:

• Traditional Web: High proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Modern Frameworks: High proficiency in React.js (Hooks, Context API, and state management like Redux or Zustand).
• UX for AI: Ability to design "Streaming" interfaces (where text appears as it's generated) and "Human-in-the-loop" feedback loops (Thumbs up/down for AI accuracy).
• Data Visualization: Experience with libraries like D3.js, Chart.js, or Recharts to turn the raw SQL data into interactive HR dashboards.
• Service Workers: Proficiency in moving logic from persistent background pages to event-driven Service Workers. Mastery of the asynchronous messaging system between the Popup.
• Shadow DOM: Ability to use the Shadow DOM to ensure the HR systems styles (CSS) dont "leak" or break the styling of the webpage the user is currently visiting.

Applied Data Science Evaluation:

• RAG Evaluation: Using frameworks like Ragas or TruLens to measure:
• Faithfulness: Is the answer based only on the HR docs provided?
• Relevancy: Did the AI actually answer the user's specific HR question?
• SQL Validation: Testing the "Text-to-SQL" logic across thousands of edge cases to ensure the AI doesn't write a query that "times out" your database.

Working Hours: 11:00 AM onwards (to ensure overlap with the US team)

Skills Required

• 8 to 12+ years of overall software engineering experience
• Strong AWS architecture expertise (VPC, IAM, RDS, security best practices)
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock and vector databases
• Proven experience deploying production-grade RAG systems
• Prior experience building AI-driven analytics dashboards
• Strong frontend expertise in React and browser extension development
• Experience building integrator-ready enterprise systems
• Deep understanding of data security and compliance best practices
