Job Description
About Cancership
Cancership is building the worlds first comfort-care ecosystem for cancer patients and caregivers.
Medicine helps patients survive. Cancership helps them endure with dignity.
We combine curated comfort kits, emotional care tools, and a survivor-led community model to redefine the cancer journey. We are not building a product. We are building a movement.
We are now hiring the person who will build and scale that movement on the ground.
The Role
We are looking for a high-energy, emotionally intelligent builder who can design, launch, and scale Cancerships community ecosystem across cities.
This is not a social media role.
This is not a passive coordination job.
You will architect and execute the Cancership Community engine - ambassadors, survivor circles, hospital activations, CSR-led programs, and a structured internship program that fuels national scale.
If you thrive in ambiguity and can turn zero into structure, this role is for you.
And no, you'll not be alone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and scale Cancerships Ambassador Network (Warrior Circle Host City Lead structure)
- Launch and manage offline survivor support circles across key cities
- Coordinate on-ground activations including hospital programs, kit distribution drives, and awareness campaigns
- Develop and lead a structured Internship Program to recruit, train, and manage 1020 interns across outreach, partnerships, and community operations
- Create leadership pathways to convert high-performing interns into long-term City Leads
- Build repeatable SOPs, dashboards, and engagement metrics to ensure scalable growth
- Drive partnerships with hospitals, NGOs, CSR teams, and youth networks
- Maintain high emotional integrity while interacting with patients, caregivers, and survivors
- Identify growth opportunities that increase engagement, retention, and community expansion
- Work directly with the Founder to translate vision into execution
Who You Are
- 1-5 years experience in community building, NGO leadership, campus leadership, or startup ops
- Experience leading teams (10+ people preferred)
- Former AIESEC, Teach For India, Rotaract, Enactus, or similar leadership experience is a strong plus
- High emotional intelligence
- Comfortable speaking with cancer patients and caregivers
- Execution-driven - you do not wait for perfect clarity
- Able to recruit, train, and energize interns
- Willing to travel across cities
- Mission-driven, but commercially aware
Who You Are Not
- Someone looking for a 95 coordination role
- A purely digital community manager
- Someone uncomfortable handling sensitive, emotional conversations
- Someone who needs daily micromanagement
Compensation
- Competitive base (startup stage)
- Performance-linked incentives
- ESOP participation for high performers
- Direct exposure to founder and ecosystem building
How to Apply
- Send Your CV to naman@cancership.com
- Create and send high-level answers to following questions (Max 500 words):
- You are executing expansion roadmap of offline and online communities for Cancership across two cities - Outline your priorities, leadership structure, activation strategy, and the key metrics you would track to measure success.
- If you were responsible for building and leading a 20-member community team (including interns and ambassadors), how would you recruit, motivate, structure, and retain them over 6 months?
