Job Description
Minimum qualifications and experience required:
- Bachelors degree in disaster risk management, natural hazards preparedness or response, sociology or social sciences. Masters degree is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience. - Minimum 8 years of experience in disaster risk management, preparedness, response to water-induced hazards at community level in India.
- Broad-based work experience recognized as an expert either in a broad area of specialization or in a limited specialized field relevant to the assignment.
- Wide experience of ADB, World bank and/or other MDB financed projects for the main rivers of India is preferred.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Lead the guidance and monitoring of the implementation of all CbFRM activities and community O&M and supervise the performance of the implementing firms / NGOs in close collaboration with PMU/PIUs/SMOs.
- Support the information exchange among the agencies/department involved, advise on bottlenecks, and facilitate smooth coordination among the organizations.
- Coordinate and advise on integrating CbFRM and community O&M activities.
- Contribute to CbFRM and community O&M trainings and activities among the DMF related targets.
- Support the formulation of CbFRM and community O&M activities for the follow-on project.
- Guide the Community Organizer.
- Conduct capacity building trainings.
- Contribute to any reports as required by the Team Leader.
