Flight Control Engineer

Position: GNC Engineer (Flight Control)

Purpose of role: Design, develop and test the control algorithms for launch vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Design robust controller for different stages of the launch vehicle and validating in 6 DOF simulations.
• Develop the GNC algorithm for flight software and perform its verification and validation.
• Perform testing of GNC software through Monte Carlo analysis, software-in-loop, hardware-in-loop testing.
• Documenting the design and test results and participating in design reviews.

Skills required

• Experience or knowledge in classical controller design, Gain scheduling and modern control design techniques.
• Experience or knowledge in design and validation of the control laws by SIL and HIL tests.
• Sound knowledge in flight mechanics, control system design for aerospace vehicles.
• Strong understanding of classical dynamics, modelling and simulation, and software development.
• Experience in using Matlab and Simulink tools for system modelling and control system design.
• Flair for high-level language like C/C++ etc. is essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and intense start-up environment and must be willing to work for extended hours and weekends.

Qualification

Essential:

1. Bachelors degree in Instrumentation & Control/Electronics & Control/Electrical (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in control design, modelling and simulation

(or) Masters degree in Controls System/Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Flight Mechanics and Control (or equivalent).

Preferrable:

1. Experience in Hardware-In-Loop Simulation (HILS).
