Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the India Finance team with a focus on building capabilities, fostering a culture of accountability, and aligning local operations with global finance objectives.
- Financial Operations : Oversee all aspects of month-end transaction processing, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements.
- Functional Oversight: Direct and supervise global accounts payable, India payroll, and India accounting and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, statutory requirements, and operational efficiency.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Drive the design, adoption, and execution of automation initiatives that reduce manual effort, strengthen internal controls, and improve the scalability of finance operations.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure robust financial governance through compliance with Indian regulatory frameworks, tax requirements, and international accounting standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with global finance teams, business leaders, external auditors and the corporate secretary to support organizational growth, mitigate risks, and enhance transparency in financial reporting.
- Hands-On Contribution: Actively perform key accounting and finance tasks when needed, ensuring operational continuity and setting a standard of excellence. These may include balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and fixed asset reporting.
Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of accounting experience; experience working with US entities preferred
- 4-year degree in accounting or related coursework, CPA preferred
- Deep knowledge of Indian accounting standards (Ind AS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience in payroll, accounts payable, general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
- Experience driving automation, process improvement, and scalable finance operations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or other accounting software.
- Experience fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Capable of troubleshooting operational issues and the ability to be hands-on, organized and detail oriented
- Strong accounting, quantitative, and analytical skills, and the ability to apply those skills within the role
- Willingness and ability to actively perform accounting and finance tasks when needed, particularly during peak periods or to support team.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analytics or business intelligence tools.
