About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Accounting Associate.


In this role, you will:

  • Provide support for financial accounting related matters for lines of business and control functions

  • Review basic activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts, financial statements and regulatory reports

  • Gather financial data for financial and regulatory reports

  • Review data from the general ledger, unit reports and various financial systems to ensure accuracy

  • Receive direction from managers and exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of financial control functions in accordance with the company’s internal control policies

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Qualified CA/CFA/ICWA/MBA with experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting

  • Financial reporting and analysis experience.

  • Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Advanced SQL & Alteryx developer working experience.

  • Knowledge of RDBMS (Relational Database Management System), like Teradata, Oracle, MS SQL server.

  • Experience in Data Management life cycle, including data analysis, data profiling, data acquisition and data quality principles.

  • Knowledge and understanding of data management concepts, process, and tools.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills

  • Ability to create reporting from databases and data-marts.

  • Build Various dashboards in Power BI with SQL as the back-end data.

  • Support data migrations, system transitions, data-mapping, data lineage, data reconciliation and documentation in alignment to policy and governance

  • Consult with stakeholders to understand their business, automation, turn them into viable solutions which improve their ability to support their clients globally.

  • BI: experience with creating visualizations. Dashboarding experience involving multiple views that all respond to navigation/filter/etc. Ability to publish that can be reused for across dashboards/workbooks and used for self-service by other analysts working on the same domain (and/or, to reuse cube created by others where expedient).

  • SQL: access, combine, calculate. Create temp tables. Structure data for common BI needs such as drilling or side-by-side comparison

  • Documentation skills. Requirements, query documentation, testing

Job Expectations:

  • Review and aggregate data for analysis & reporting. Analysis will include period-over-period variances, trends, aging, capital calculations and reserve adjustments.  This team will also support the preparation and review of management and regulatory reports and data submissions.

  • help drive efficiency and automation of these processes. This team will also build a center of excellence capability responsible for partnering across the Controller teams to ensure data analytic needs are met, including automation of processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Access key systems and provide system table maintenance. also handle a variety of research and ad hoc requests.

  • Knowledge of USA regulatory agencies (ie SEC, OCC, FED) and related reporting.

  • Analyze past results, perform Variance Analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Knowledge of banking and lending data and reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques.

  • Ability to prepare presentations, management reporting, and statistical analysis.

  • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs.

  • Experience in corporate loans, capital markets and investment banking preferred.

  • Knowledge in Basel Regulatory rules
