Our client a $2Billion-dollar National success story with a clear strategy in becoming a leader in its sector is looking for a Financial Accountant for their next stage of growth in Australia.

The Role

The Financial Accountant is a key contributor to the integrity and timeliness of transactional and reporting processes from record to report.

A central role within the organization, The Financial Accountant partners with Operational Administration to ensure seamless, accurate and near real-time capture, translation and recording of financial transactions. This role liaises closely with Group to ensure the business meets all external reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Period-end closing and reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including timely capitalisation of assets.
• Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and process journal adjustments where required.
• Reconcile the insurance claims register to the balance sheet and liaise with internal stakeholders.
• Tax and regulatory submissions (BAS, PAYG, FBT), with prior fuel tax credit experience desirable.
• Support for external audits
• Provide direct support to the Manager Financial Reporting and Group Financial Controller with ad hoc duties.

Requirements

• CPA/CA qualified with minimum 3 years experience in a similar Financial Accountant role.
• Experience in fixed asset/asset maintenance.
• Ability to work with and optimise data, systems, and processes for reporting accuracy.
• High attention to detail, self-motivation, and a problem-solving mindset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the business.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 desirable.
