Finance Manager - An Education Service Group - Bengaluru

Job Summary:

Our client, a leading Education Service Group headquartered in Bangalore is keen to hire a Qualified CA with atleast 6+ years of experience for the Finance Manager role. The ideal candidate should have strong stakeholder and team management skills and expertise in running the finance team. The selected candidate will be looking into the finance strategy, financial reporting, regulatory compliances, budgeting, cost control management, strategic finance planning and will oversee the finance and accounting operations.

Our client is a leading Education Service Group, specialising in the ownership, operation, and management of boarding and day schools and colleges. With over 6+ education centres and a target to add 15 more schools in coming years, the Group is fast growing, supported by a team of over 500+ members.

Location: Basavangudi, Bengaluru

Designation: Finance Manager / Controller

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Strategic Finance Partner to Leadership: Act as a key finance partner to founders and senior leadership, supporting business decisions, growth initiatives, and long-term financial strategy as the organisation scales.
• Financial Reporting and MIS: Own end-to-end financial reporting and MIS, ensuring timely, accurate, and decision-ready reports in line with applicable accounting standards and evolving business needs.
• Budgeting, Forecasting and Growth Planning: Lead budgeting and rolling forecasts, and projections to support expansion plans, new initiatives, and resource allocation decisions.
• Process Building and Internal Controls: Establish and strengthen finance processes, internal controls, SOPs and governance frameworks suitable for a growing business, balancing control with speed and flexibility.
• Cost Management and Unit Economics: Closely track costs, margins, and unit economics, analyse variances, and provide practical insights to improve efficiency, profitability, and scalability.
• Taxation and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate compliance with direct and indirect tax requirements, proactively managing risks and working with external advisors as the business grows.
• Audit and Investor Readiness: Coordinate audits and ensure audit readiness, clean financials, and strong documentation to support potential fundraising, due diligence, or strategic partnerships.
• Cash Flow and Working Capital Ownership: Take full ownership of cash flow planning and working capital management, ensuring liquidity to support growth while optimising capital utilisation.
• Team Building and Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead the finance and accounting team, setting up scalable systems and processes to support the next phase of growth.
• Corporate Governance and MCA Compliance: Work closely with the Company Secretary and external consultants to ensure ongoing MCA and corporate compliance as the organisation expands.
• Mergers & Acquisition: Assist in acquisition strategies along with consultants and founders.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely and accurate publication of cost information.
• Timely completion of the annual budgeting exercise.
• Identification and implementation of minimum 3% cost-saving opportunities against the total cost budget.
• 100% compliance with tax and audit requirements.
• Effective internal controls with zero fraud incidents.
• Identification and implementation of financial process automation opportunities.

Role Requirement:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 6+years of post qualification experience with similar roles.
• Past experience in stakeholder and team management
• Experience in supporting the board in decision making.
• Strong working understanding of Income Tax and GST frameworks.
• Proven experience in Financial reporting, cost controls and compliances.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Education: Qualified CA

Experience: 6+ years of post qualification experience in similar roles

Working days: Monday to Saturday
