Finance Associate

Location: HSR Layout, Bangalore

edumerge is building Indias leading ERP platform for Schools and Colleges. We are scaling fast and need a sharp, hungry finance operator who can own cashflow, collections, billing discipline, vendor payments, and monthly close with high accuracy and pace.

This role is for someone who wants to grow into Finance Manager / Finance Lead in 23 years.

Role Overview

You will run the day-to-day finance engine of edumerge.

You will work directly with the CEO and support the GTM and Customer teams with strong financial discipline.

This is not a back-office role. It is a control tower role .

Key Responsibilities

1. Cashflow & Forecasting

• Maintain daily cash position
• Update the 6-week rolling cashflow forecast every Monday
• Flag risks on salaries, vendor payouts, and inflows
• Maintain visibility on weekly and monthly variances

2. Billing & Invoicing

• Ensure all invoices are raised on time
• Maintain billing calendar for renewals and new go-lives
• Ensure accuracy in Zoho Billing / subscription system
• Track overdue invoices and escalate early

3. Collections

• Run weekly collections cadence with GTM
• Maintain collections tracker (customer-wise, POD-wise)
• Push follow-ups, capture updates, escalate high-risk accounts
• Reduce ageing and drive predictable inflows

4. Vendor Payments & Expense Control

• Maintain vendor payment calendar
• Track due dates and plan payouts as per cashflow
• Ensure adherence to budgets and prevent leakage
• Verify all claims before processing

5. Monthly Close & MIS

• Maintain the monthly close file
• Update expense detail sheet
• Summarise COGS, P&E, S&M, G&A
• Reconcile books, bank statements, vendor summaries
• Support MIS and reporting

6. Process Discipline

• Ensure adherence to travel policy, reimbursement norms
• Maintain audit-ready documentation
• Improve finance workflows continuously

7. Coordination

• Work with sales, customer teams, and CEO for billing and collections
• Coordinate with external consultant for GST, TDS, compliance

What Were Looking ForMust-Have

• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills
• Good understanding of cashflow, collections, invoicing
• Detail-oriented and disciplined
• High ownership and urgency
• Comfortable working directly with founder
• Clear communication
• Low ego, high learning mindset

Nice-to-Have

• CA Inter or pursuing CA
• BCom / MBA in Finance
• Experience in SaaS, ERP, subscription billing, or early-stage startups
• Experience with Zoho Books, Zoho Billing, RazorpayX
