Position Title: Field Technician

Job Role: Field Technician

As a Field Technician you will provide on-site installation support, maintenance of all mechanical and electrified hardware at customer locations ensuring high uptime, safety and customer satisfaction. Also, you would be supporting testing activities of the associated Mechanical and Electromechanical products.

Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities, Abilities & Skills:

• Install and commission architectural and electrified hardware at client sites as per standards and checklists.
• Ensure accurate door preparation and coordinate with OEMs as per project requirements.
• Attend breakdown calls and service requests within agreed response times.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections of installed hardware at various sites and lab equipment.
• Maintain accurate service reports and provide recommendations for parts change or new product replacement.
• Train end users and site staff on safe operation and maintenance of Installed hardware.
• Co-ordination with sales/back office for scheduling, spare parts and escalation.
• Interpret test plans and reliability project orders with minimal direction from Test Engineers.
• Perform product tests adhering to established test methods and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and documentation requirements in the lab and at project sites.
• Promote adherence to 5S standards and housekeeping in the lab and field environments.

Job Requirements:

• Percentage of Travel: 10%
• Minimum Years of Experience: 10 (Field Technician)
• Education Standard: Diploma in Mechanical/Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation
• 7-8 years work experience in relevant hardware industry with a good knowledge of mechanical and electrified hardware.
• 2-3 years of experience in testing domain

Knowledge & Work Experience required:

• Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills of mechanical and electrical hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory standards.
• Basic knowledge of Lab accessories and electronic components.
• Experience with measurement devices and pneumatic systems.
• Good working knowledge of pneumatic components and systems.
• Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills.
• Able to follow written work instructions and complete necessary tasks accurately.
• Preventive maintenance practices for both field hardware and lab instruments.
• Maintain effective communications both verbal & written with customer, team members and cross functional departments.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and documentation processes.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Desired Skillset:

• Knowledge of compliance requirements.
• Experience with architectural door hardware would be highly desirable, including exposure to BHMA and UL standards.
