Job Description

Service Engineer System Support

Location: Delhi NCR / On-Site

Experience: 25 Years

Department: Technical Support / Operations

Reporting To: Project Manager / Technical Lead


About the Role

We are looking for a Resident Service Engineer System Support to provide on-site technical support for deployed systems and IT infrastructure. The role involves monitoring system health, performing first-level troubleshooting of hardware and networking issues, and ensuring the continuous operation of mission-critical software systems.

The engineer will act as the first point of contact for operational technical issues, working closely with internal development teams and OEM vendors to ensure timely resolution and high system availability.


Key Responsibilities


Technical Support

  • Provide first-level support for deployed systems, servers, workstations, and networking equipment
  • Perform initial diagnosis and troubleshooting of system faults and alerts
  • Identify issues related to hardware, networking, operating systems, or application services

System Monitoring

  • Conduct routine system health checks including:
  • Server and workstation status
  • Network connectivity
  • Application services
  • Storage utilization
  • System logs and alerts
  • Identify and report performance anomalies or system degradation

Hardware & Infrastructure Support

  • Perform basic hardware checks including cables, peripherals, disks, and connectivity
  • Assist with hardware replacement as per maintenance procedures
  • Coordinate with OEM vendors for repair, replacement, and warranty support

Software & Application Support

  • Verify operational status of deployed software modules
  • Restart services or applications following defined procedures
  • Capture logs and diagnostic data for troubleshooting
  • Escalate software issues or bugs to development teams

Coordination & Incident Management

  • Act as the on-site technical interface between operational users, development teams, and OEM support
  • Track incidents and ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain documentation of troubleshooting steps and maintenance activities
  • Provide periodic status reports to project management


Required Technical Skills

Hardware

  • Basic knowledge of server and workstation hardware
  • Familiarity with storage devices and system cabling

Networking

  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  • Familiarity with LAN infrastructure, switches, and routers
  • Ability to diagnose connectivity issues

Systems

  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows environments
  • Ability to monitor services and review system logs


Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in:
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Electronics / Telecommunications
  • Or related technical discipline


Experience

  • 25 years of experience in IT infrastructure support, system support, or technical service engineering
  • Experience supporting servers, networking equipment, or enterprise applications preferred


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in operational environments supporting mission-critical systems
  • Willingness to respond to system incidents and maintenance requirements
  • Ability to comply with security protocols for government or secure facilities
