Job Description
Location:New Delhi
We are looking for an experienced Fashion Designer who can work closely with the founder to elevate the design language of the brand.
This role requires someone with strong knowledge ofgarment construction, trims, silhouettes, and print development, who can help translate ideas into well-developed garments and distinctive prints. The designer should be comfortable co-creating collections, introducing new design techniques, and sourcing fabrics and trims from the market.
- Work closely with the founder toco-develop new styles and silhouettesfor the brand.
- Introduce fresh ideas fornecklines, sleeves, paneling, pleats, and garment construction.
- Suggest design details such aslace insertions, beadwork, pintucks, trims, buttons, tassels, and finishing techniques to elevate garments.
- Overseesampling and fittings, ensuring garments have the right fit, fall, and finishing.
- Work with tailors and sampling units to refine garment construction.
- Lead the development oforiginal prints and surface designsfor the brand.
- Conceptualize print stories aligned with seasonal collections.
- Work with digital or screen printing vendors to develop print samples.
- Guide scale, placement, and color combinations for prints on garments.
- Ensure prints translate well into final garments.
- Visit sourcing markets to identifyunique fabrics, laces, buttons, tassels, beadings, and trims.
- Build and maintain afabric and trim libraryfor the brand.
- Bring fresh sourcing ideas that align with the brand aesthetic.
- Assist in developing seasonal collections for both brands.
- Ensure design language remains consistent while introducing fresh elements.
- 47 years experience infashion design and product development.
- Strong understanding ofIndian wear silhouettes and garment construction.
- Experience inprint design or working with printed textiles.
- Familiarity withdesign software such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshopfor print development.
- Experience working withkarigars, sampling units, and fabric vendors.
- Strong aesthetic sense and attention to detail.
- Degree fromNIFT, Pearl Academy, or other fashion institutes.
- Experience working withcontemporary Indian wear brands.
- Knowledge ofprint placement and textile development.
