Job Description

The Fashion Designer will be a core member of the Creative Team, working under the direct guidance of the Creative Head. This role is responsible for translating seasonal concepts into commercially viable and aesthetically powerful designs, specializing in Indian silhouettes, embroidery techniques, and fabric manipulation. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical foundation and a keen eye for colour and textile.


Key Responsibilities


- Conduct extensive trend, fabric, and colour research to align with the Creative Heads seasonal vision (SS/AW).


- Develop detailed design concepts, sketches, flat drawings, and mood boards for assigned collections (including couture and ready-to-wear).


- Work closely with the Production Manager to source, select, and develop proprietary textiles, prints, and custom embellishments.


- Create highly accurate and detailed Technical Specifications (Tech Packs), including BOMs (Bill of Materials), size charts, and construction notes for the production team.


- Oversee the entire sampling process from prototype to final samples, ensuring designs are executed to the highest quality standards.


- Conduct and lead daily fit sessions with the Pattern Master and Sample Maker, providing clear, concise, and constructive feedback on fit, drape, and garment construction.


- Maintain an uncompromising focus on garment finishing, fit consistency, and adherence to luxury quality benchmarks.


- Prepare and present collection concepts and final designs for internal reviews and stakeholder meetings.


- Maintain an organised archive of all design iterations, patterns, fabric swatches, and finalised tech packs.


- Act as the primary design liaison between the Creative, Production, and Marketing teams to ensure brand messaging aligns with product delivery.


Qualifications

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Fashion Design or Apparel Design

- Graduate or Post-Graduate from a leading Indian institute such as NID, NIFT. (Preferred)

- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of professional design experience, specifically in the Indian womens wear or couture segment.


Essential Skills

- Expert knowledge of pattern cutting principles, garment construction, and fit resolution for Indian silhouettes

- High proficiency inPro Create Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and technical sketching software

- In-depth understanding of traditional Indian textiles, handlooms, embroidery techniques, and material properties (silks, velvets, cottons).

  • - Excellent verbal and visual communication skills; ability to convey complex design ideas clearly to both creative and technical teams.
