Kochi Kochu is a contemporary luxury label rooted in South Asian craftsmanship and shaped by global perspectives.

We are building a new Indian house of slow fashion where design, craft, and cultural storytelling come together to create modern heirlooms.

OurJaipur studio brings together artisans, designers, and creative thinkers redefining what Made in India means for a global audience.

The Role

Were looking for astrong, hands-on designer who understands both creativity and construction someone who can think like an artist, execute like a technician, and collaborate like a builder.

Youll work closely with our production team and artisans to develop silhouettes, embroidery, and prints that blend heritage and modernity while also contributing to sourcing and material innovation.

Responsibilities

• Research and design new silhouettes aligned with Kochi Kochus aesthetic and storytelling.
• Minimum5 years of experiencein fashion or textile design, with proven work on contemporary or luxury collections.
• Develop prints and surface artworks , includingplacement layouts, scale, and graphic design refinement.
• Create embroidery sheets for handwork teams with detailed references for stitches, beads, and color palettes.
• Prepare comprehensive tech packs with fabric details, construction notes, and embroidery/print specifications.
• Work with vendors and suppliers tosource fabrics, trims, and materials across key Indian hubs (Jaipur, Delhi, Surat, Banaras, Kerala, etc.).
• Collaborate with pattern makers and the sampling team to ensure accuracy from sketch to final garment.
• Support creative direction for visual storytelling, campaigns, and lookbooks.

Ideal Candidate

• Background infashion or textile design , with strong technical understanding.
• Skilled inAdobe Illustrator, Photoshop , or similar design software.
• Experience inprint development, embroidery mapping, and surface design detailing.
• Preferably a graduate from design schools such asNID, NIFT, FIT, London College of fashion, parsons or similar reputed institutions known for design and craftsmanship.
• Hands-on understanding ofsourcing networks and craft clusters across India.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced studio.
• Based in Jaipur or open to relocation for a full-time, in-house role.
