Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Fashion & Apparel Designer in the womens ethnic and fusion wear segment. The ideal candidate should bring a strong combination of design innovation, technical precision, and market understanding to develop collections that are both trend-forward and commercially viable.

Key Responsibilities:
1) Conduct in-depth market research and trend analysis to identify consumer preferences in womens ethnic and fusion wear.
2) Design and develop innovative, market-ready collections aligned with brand positioning.
3) Prepare mood boards, sketches and detailed CAD designs. Prepare comprehensive Tech Packs for seamless production handovers.
4) Collaborate with the sampling and production teams on pattern making, embroidery, and garment construction.
5) Recommend suitable fabrics, prints, trims, embroidery techniques, and ornamentation for collections.
6) Design with a "cost-effective" mindset, selecting materials and techniques that align with target price points without compromising on aesthetic.
7) Lead fit sessions, manage alterations, and ensure all prototypes meet the brands quality and sizing standards before bulk production.
8) Build and manage vendor and supplier networks for material sourcing.
9) Travel to Surat, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Erode, and Chennai for fabric sourcing along with print and embroidery development.
10) To coordinate with our key clients to understand their sampling requirements, and prepare a fresh set of samples accordingly for presentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
1) Strong eye for design, fabrics & construction
2) Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and CAD.
3) Strong knowledge of print development, embroidery, and garment construction.
4) Proven ability to translate design concepts into commercially successful products.
5) Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
6) Willingness to travel for development and sourcing.
7) Proven ability to manage T&A (Time & Action) calendars to ensure collections are launched on schedule.

Portfolio: A strong digital portfolio showcasing previous work in the Ethnic/Fusion space is mandatory.
