Stipend Range : 8,000 - 10,000 per month (commensurate with experience and skill level)
Job Overview
This is a hybrid, multi-functional role suitable for a Fashion Design student/fresher who is skilled in sketching and fashion illustration, enjoys Indian handlooms & embroidery art, and wants holistic exposure to how a couture brand operates.
The intern will be involved in sketching, embroidery draft creation, photoshoot support, artisan coordination, exhibitions, inventory, and daily brand operations.
This is not a desk-only role this is a hands-on design + operations role where you will see your work come alive in real sarees.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fashion Design + Creative Development
- Sketch saree layouts, blouse designs, motifs, borders & pallu concepts
- Create detailed embroidery drafts for zardosi, aari, beadwork & threadwork
- Assist with handloom layout & motif scaling
- Prepare moodboards, colour stories & collection concepts
- Work directly with the founder on new design development
2. Embroidery & Artisan Coordination
- Explain designs and drafts to karigars
- Follow up daily on progress and timelines
- Perform quality checks
- Coordinate pickups/drop-offs
- Maintain embroidery production schedules
3. Photoshoots & Brand Content Support
- Assist during photoshoots (styling, saree prep, organizing looks)
- Steam ironing, draping & set preparation
- Capture BTS content
- Organize products and shortlist images post-shoot
4. Exhibitions & Brand Events
- Assist in setup, display and customer handling
- Maintain product presentation
- Help in billing, folding, and operations during events
5. Operations & Inventory Support
- Catalog new arrivals
- Track sarees sent to embroidery/work in progress
- Maintain inventory sheets
- Assist in order packing & coordination
Qualifications & Skills
Must Have
- Strong sketching & illustration skills (mandatory)
- Good aesthetic sense of colour, layout, and proportion
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to multitask and handle responsibilities independently
- Ability to work with artisans and explain designs clearly
- Basic photography
Good to Have (Not Mandatory)
- Knowledge of Procreate / Adobe Illustrator
- Understanding of Indian handlooms & embroidery techniques
- Prior internship experience in a fashion brand
- Understanding of handloom weaving processes
