About the Role
We are seeking a strategically strong and execution-focused Export Sales Manager who can drive international business growth by developing export markets, building global distribution networks, and managing overseas customer relationships.
This role requires a candidate who understands global trade dynamics, export documentation, logistics coordination, and international sales strategy. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing global clients, negotiating contracts, and ensuring seamless export order execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Export Sales Strategy & Market Expansion
- Develop and implement export sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and profitability targets
- Identify and evaluate new international markets, customer segments, and distribution opportunities
- Conduct market research to understand demand patterns, pricing benchmarks, and competitor positioning
- Develop market entry strategies and sales plans for targeted regions
2. International Business Development
- Identify and onboard new international buyers, distributors, agents, and channel partners
- Build and maintain a strong export sales pipeline
- Generate business opportunities through networking, digital outreach, and international trade exhibitions
- Represent the company at global trade fairs, business delegations, and industry events
3. Global Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with overseas clients and partners
- Serve as the primary contact for international customers for product enquiries, quotations, and order discussions
- Conduct regular virtual or in-person meetings with clients to support business growth and customer retention
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business
4. Negotiation & Contract Management
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, commercial agreements, and distributor contracts
- Prepare and review export sales agreements ensuring compliance with international trade regulations
- Manage Letters of Credit (LC), advance payments, and international commercial terms
5. Export Order Management & Documentation
- Coordinate with Production, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure timely order execution
- Oversee preparation of export documentation including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping documents, and LC documentation
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade policies, and international shipping standard
- Monitor shipment schedules and coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics partners
6. Cross-Functional Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with Product, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product readiness and delivery timelines
- Prepare export sales forecasts, market performance reports, and business projections
- Provide strategic inputs on pricing, product customization, and international market trends
7. Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify and manage risks related to foreign exchange, trade regulations, logistics delays, or geopolitical factors
- Ensure compliance with export regulations, EXIM policies, and relevant international trade frameworks
- Develop mitigation plans to protect business continuity and customer commitments
Core Must-Have Criteria (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong export sales experience must have independently handled international markets and client acquisition
- Deep understanding of export documentation, Incoterms, and global logistics coordination
- Proven negotiation capability with overseas distributors and customers
- Strong ownership mindset able to manage complete export order lifecycle from lead generation to dispatch and payment realization
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, International Trade, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 58 years of experience in export sales or international business development
- Proven track record of achieving export revenue targets and managing global customers
- Strong knowledge of export documentation, global shipping processes, and trade compliance
- Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and ERP systems is preferred
- Willingness to travel internationally for business development and exhibitions
Preferred Profile
- Experience in manufacturing, rubber, plastics, engineering components, or industrial products
- Exposure to distributor network development and global channel sales
- Strong understanding of OEM export business models
- Strategic and analytical mindset with strong relationship management capabilities
