Job description for Executive Housekeeper
An Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the entire housekeeping department of a facility, ensuring that all areas are clean, well-maintained, and up to company standards. They manage and train housekeeping staff, develop and implement policies and procedures, and ensure that the housekeeping department operates efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing the entire housekeeping department, including supervising staff and managing schedules
- Developing and implementing the overall strategy and direction for the Housekeeping department.
- Managing and supervising a team of housekeeping executives and supervisors.
- Conducting regular inspections of all areas of the facility to ensure that cleanliness and maintenance standards are being met.
- Ordering and maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Hiring and training new housekeeping staff and providing ongoing training to ensure that they are familiar with company policies and procedures.
- Responding to customer complaints or concerns related to housekeeping services and taking appropriate action to address the issue
- Ensuring that housekeeping staff follows all safety and health protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
- Preparing and submitting reports on housekeeping activities and budgets to management.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure that housekeeping services are integrated into overall facility operations.
- Managing budgets and ensuring that the housekeeping department operates within its allocated budget
Qualifications:
- Minimum SSC pass or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- Prior experience in housekeeping or hotel management required, with at least 5 years in a management role,
Overall, as an Executive Housekeeper you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and have strong leadership skills. You should also posses good knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper cleaning techniques, and equipment used in housekeeping services.
