ETL Test Lead

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the ETL testing team to ensure effective execution of ETL testing processes.

Define and drive the testing strategy, methodologies, and best practices for ETL testing.

Develop and oversee the creation of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL projects.

Lead efforts to validate data from multiple sources, ensuring accurate transformation and loading into target systems.

Collaborate with development teams to understand system requirements and assist in the design of the ETL processes and data mappings.

Ensure data quality by overseeing the testing of data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

Lead efforts to identify, track, and resolve defects in ETL processes, working closely with developers and other stakeholders.

Provide leadership and mentoring to junior ETL testers, ensuring their development and performance.

Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts for repetitive testing tasks.

Perform complex data validation and reconciliation activities across multiple databases and systems.

Conduct performance and regression testing to assess the efficiency and stability of ETL processes.

Work closely with business analysts to understand business requirements and ensure they are reflected in test scenarios.

Generate and maintain detailed reports and dashboards to track the status of testing efforts and defects.

Communicate test results, risks, and issues to project stakeholders, ensuring visibility into the testing process.

Continuously improve the ETL testing process by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years of experience in ETL testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.

Extensive experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and data warehousing concepts.

Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Proven ability to create, manage, and execute ETL test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

Hands-on experience with data validation, data migration, and data integration.

Experience with performance testing, regression testing, and defect management.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, or any ETL-specific automation tool).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cloud-based ETL platforms (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow).

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.

Certifications in ETL testing, data quality, or related areas.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
