Estimation Engineer - Piping

Job Description: Estimation Piping Engineer for UHP Gas and Chemical Systems in Solar/Semiconductor MEP

This role focuses on cost estimation, design support, and project planning for ultra-high purity (UHP) piping systems handling gases and chemicals in semiconductor fabs and solar PV manufacturing facilities. Estimation engineers analyse drawings and specs to deliver accurate bids for MEP services, ensuring compliance with cleanroom standards and industry guidelines like SEMI standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Review P&IDs, Process Flow Diagram, layouts, isometrics, Data Sheets, Tender Documents, and project specs to perform piping takeoffs, including pipes, fittings, valves, and UHP components, gas and chemical control systems for high-purity gases, chemicals, UPW, and varied process utilities.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, equipment, rentals, vendor quotes, and overheads using tools like Excel, Autocad etc for bid documents and value engineering.
• Collaborate with MEP teams, vendors, and clients to clarify scopes, optimize designs, and support tool hookups.
• Ensure estimates align with safety standards std, generate scope letters, takeoff summaries, and color-coded drawings for semiconductor, front end, back end, OSAT or solar cell facilities.

Required Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering with 2-4 years in piping estimation for high-tech industries like semiconductors or solar MEP.
• Expertise in UHP systems: high-purity stainless steel/Teflon piping, gas cabinets, VMBs, chemical skids, and cleanroom protocols.
• Proficiency in estimation software, MS Office, and pipe stress tools; knowledge of Indian standards for projects.
