Position Title: Senior Manager ESG & Sustainability

Job Purpose

To lead and execute environmental reporting and sustainability disclosure processes for a large financial services group. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality ESG reporting aligned with global standards and regulatory requirements, while driving environmental initiatives, decarbonization strategies, and ESG data governance across multiple business entities.

Business Context

The ESG function works across multiple group companies to drive ESG adoption, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory disclosures. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to strengthen ESG frameworks and enhance sustainability performance.

  • Increasing regulatory scrutiny on ESG disclosures (including BRSR and climate-related reporting).
  • Rising investor expectations for transparent and reliable ESG data.
  • Managing operational and reputational risks linked to ESG performance.
  • Leveraging strong ESG performance to attract long-term sustainable investors.

Key Responsibilities

ESG & Sustainability Reporting

  • Lead environmental reporting for the annual ESG / Sustainability Report.
  • Ensure alignment with global reporting standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and regulatory frameworks including BRSR.
  • Draft and consolidate ESG disclosures across group entities into a unified sustainability report.

Carbon Neutrality & Decarbonization Strategy

  • Support development and execution of the groups long-term carbon neutrality roadmap (Scope 1 & Scope 2).
  • Identify and implement decarbonization initiatives across operations.
  • Partner with internal teams to execute sustainability initiatives such as environmental conservation programs and carbon reduction projects.

Scope 3 Emissions & Climate Strategy

  • Expand the ESG reporting boundary to include additional Scope 3 emission categories including:
  • Purchased goods and services
  • Business travel
  • Employee commuting
  • Develop frameworks for measuring financed emissions aligned with PCAF standards and global climate finance principles.

ESG Data Management & Automation

  • Lead ESG data collection, validation, and reporting across multiple group companies.
  • Manage ESG data platforms and automation tools to establish a single source of truth for ESG data.
  • Ensure ESG data processes are audit-ready and support internal governance.

Benchmarking & Regulatory Monitoring

  • Conduct benchmarking against domestic and global peers to assess ESG performance.
  • Track emerging ESG regulations and frameworks including ISSB and international taxonomy developments.
  • Provide insights to enhance the organizations sustainability strategy.

ESG Assurance & Publication

  • Manage the end-to-end ESG report publication process.
  • Coordinate with external assurance providers for ESG and BRSR verification.
  • Ensure timely completion of disclosures and reporting milestones.

Value Chain & Supplier ESG

  • Lead ESG value-chain disclosures.
  • Work with procurement and supplier ecosystems to collect ESG data from key vendors.
  • Support supplier ESG capability building.

Stakeholder Engagement & Training

  • Deliver ESG training and awareness programs for internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct workshops with external stakeholders and vendors to improve ESG understanding and reporting capabilities.

Team Leadership

  • Provide subject matter expertise in environmental reporting.
  • Mentor ESG team members across group companies.
  • Foster strong ESG governance and reporting discipline across the organization.

Skills & Knowledge

Educational Qualifications

Masters degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, ESG, Climate Studies, or related fields from a reputed institution.

Experience

  • 78 years of experience in ESG reporting or sustainability roles, preferably within large corporate environments.
  • Experience managing ESG disclosures aligned with global frameworks.
  • Exposure to sustainability reporting at a corporate or group level.
