Equity Research Analyst Mid-Cap

Focus: Hidden Gems, Niche Leaders, and Scalable Business Models

Role Objective

To discover under-researched companies with the potential to become tomorrows large caps. In a Category III AIF, this role requires high agility, as mid-caps are prone to extreme volatility and liquidity risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Bottom-Up Discovery: Use screens and primary research to find companies with a market cap between 5,000 Cr 30,000 Cr.
• Channel Checks: Conduct extensive ground-level research, including plant visits, distributor meetings, and competitor interviews.
• Management Integrity Assessment: Given the higher governance risks in mid-caps, perform rigorous forensic accounting and background checks on promoters.
• Liquidity Management: Monitor average daily trading volumes to ensure the fund can enter or exit positions without excessive "impact cost."
• Corporate Access: Build a network of industry experts and management teams to gain early insights into CAPEX cycles.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 48 years in Equity Research, with a proven track record in the Mid/Small-cap space or covering industrials.
• Education: MBA (Finance), CFA, or specialized Masters in Finance.
• Skills: Exceptional "forensic" accounting skills. Proficiency in relative valuation and DCF.
• Mindset: High risk-appetite and the patience to hold through "time-correction" phases.
