Ensemble Testing Analyst Level
Role Summary
An Ensemble Testing Analyst is responsible for executing defined test cases to validate end-to-end workflows across integrated healthcare or enterprise systems. This entry-level role emphasizes understanding system interfaces, data flows, and interoperability, often using InterSystems Ensemble as a middleware platform.
Key Responsibilities
Understand integration requirements and message flows between systems (such as EHR, billing, lab, pharmacy).
Assist in developing test scenarios and test scripts, based on functional requirements and technical specifications.
Execute manual and automated interface tests, verifying successful message exchange, data transformation, and error handling.
Log, track, and retest defects; collaborate with integration developers to resolve issues.
Support test data setup for various message types (e.g., HL7, FHIR, X12) and maintain accurate documentation.
Participate in test cycle activities (smoke tests, regression, and UAT support).
Required Skills
Foundational knowledge of integration testing concepts and common healthcare data formats (e.g., HL7, CCD/CCDA, FHIR).
Ability to trace and validate messages in middleware platforms like Ensemble.
Attention to detail and systematic documentation habits.
Effective communicator and team player.
Ensemble Testing Consultant Level
Role Summary
An Ensemble Testing Consultant leads integration test planning and execution for complex projects, acting as the bridge between technical and business stakeholders. This role requires deeper expertise in interface testing, test management, and healthcare data standards, with responsibility for quality assurance across the integration landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Design comprehensive test plans for integration scenarios involving multiple systems and interfaces.
Lead execution of end-to-end, regression, and performance testing for interfaces and workflows.
Analyze interface specifications and provide input into test scope, coverage, and data strategy.
Mentor and support junior team members in understanding integration flows and troubleshooting.
Lead defect triage, track issue resolution, and ensure quality deliverables aligned to project timelines.
Engage with stakeholders (integration architects, business analysts, client SMEs) to validate expected outcomes and manage change requests.
Drive improvements in interface testing processes, automation frameworks, and environment management.
Required Skills
Deep proficiency with healthcare integration standards (HL7, FHIR, X12, etc.) and tools (Ensemble, HealthShare, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or similar).
Familiarity with test management and automation tools for interface validation.
Strong problem-solving skills for debugging data and workflow issues across multiple systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication with client and technical teams.
Ability to manage priorities, lead teams, and support multiple concurrent test cycles.
