English - First Language (Cambridge Lower Secondary)

Position: English Facilitator

Level: Cambridge Lower Secondary (Grades 6 to 8)

Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for a teacher who enjoys working with language and with children. Someone who can help bring the English language alive in the classroom. The role involves working with middle school students and supporting them as they grow in reading, writing, speaking and thinking with greater confidence.

More than grammar or correctness, the work is about helping children express their thoughts clearly, read with attention, and engage with texts in a thoughtful and meaningful way.

• Facilitate English classes for Cambridge Lower Secondary students (Grades 68).
• Support students in developing reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
• Encourage thoughtful discussion, interpretation, and expression through literature and language activities.
• Plan lessons and learning materials aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary framework.
• Design simple assessments and give constructive feedback on student work.
• Guide students in projects, presentations, and creative writing tasks.
• Maintain basic academic records and share feedback on student progress.
• Work collaboratively with the middle and senior school teams.
  

• A graduate or postgraduate in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
• Prior experience teaching English at middle or secondary school level is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Cambridge Lower Secondary or similar curriculum is an advantage (or willingness to learn).
• Someone who enjoys working with adolescents and can create a calm, thoughtful classroom environment.
• open to reflection, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  

Generally between 8:15 AM and 4:00 PM (flexible for part-time roles).
