Job Title: Engineering Senior Manager

Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team: Chief Technology Office (CTO) - IT Service Management & Operations

Impact & Contribution: The Service Management Modernisation Program (SMM) is a pivotal transformation to achieve the target state DevSecOps vision.
This newly formed squad will start working together at with a new Product Owner who can balance effort and complexity across a list of improvements you will be involved with engineers in Business units to creatively solve their problems and pan points.
    
Roles & Responsibilities:

• You’ll manage a medium sized team of Software Engineers ensuring optimal goal setting, performance, career development and engagement. 
• Advocate the embedding of a positive engineering culture, ensuring adherence to standards and technical quality, and guide complex technical problem solving.
• Support your team, allocating time for code review, refactoring and tech debt elimination over feature delivery.
• Developing technical, interpersonal and leadership skills of the Engineering teams in a structured way
• Build, lead and inspire an engaged team of Engineers.
• Empower team to manage their work appropriately, respond to queries, address impediments and problem solve technical issues.
• Leverage excellent level of technical domain knowledge relevant to Chapter Area (e.g. Software Engineering).
• Communicate Engineering Practice standards and consistent ways of working across the domain and CBA that align to industry standards.
• Facilitate proactive dialogue with senior management and key stakeholders to remove blockers and ensure clear path to execution.
• Provide effective coaching to Engineers and establishes mechanisms for peer to peer learning and mentoring.
• Support team to allocate time for code review, refactoring and tech debt elimination over feature delivery.

 
Essential Tech Skills:

• Must have 15+ years of experience.
• Software engineering, expert in at least one Programming language (e.g., Golang, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python)
• Strong experience with modern software development practices using tools such as git for source control, and CI/CD tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy or similar; Strong public cloud experience in AWS
• Extensive and in-depth knowledge of containerisation such as Docker and Kafka event streaming
• Scripting and Automation - Python/Ruby/Shell/Bash or similar.
• Hands-on experience with automating cloud native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure via code
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices with specific focus on the following concepts: source control, CI/CD, automated testing, logging and monitoring.

 
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
