Position : Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager
Experience : 12 to 18 Years
Location : Bangalore
Qualifications :
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a reputed institution.
Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with at least 57 years in a senior engineering leadership capacity.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing engineering teams across geographies and time zones.
Extensive experience in building and managing enterprise applications using Java/J2EE or .Net or FrontEnd(JS/React) or DBMS technologies
In-depth technical knowledge of modern software architectures, cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and microservices-based systems.
Strong experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies and distributed team delivery models.
Excellent organizational, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to align technology initiatives to business outcomes.
Proven ability to manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor partnerships (where applicable).
Experience in leading large-scale refactoring, re-platforming, or system modernization initiatives.
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab/GitHub and other modern engineering toolchains.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple engineering teams (comprising 5060 engineers) responsible for the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade software systems.
Develop and execute on strategic engineering initiatives that align with business priorities and long-term product vision.
Provide hands-on leadership in system architecture, design reviews, technical decision-making, and troubleshooting of complex technical issues.
Partner with Product Management to define and deliver product roadmaps, ensuring scope, timelines, and quality targets are met.
Champion engineering best practices, including code quality, security, testing automation, performance optimization, and maintainability.
Attract, hire, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering talent; foster a culture of high performance, accountability, inclusivity, and continuous learning.
Establish and track meaningful KPIs, OKRs, and performance metrics across teams to measure engineering effectiveness, delivery velocity, and product quality.
Drive agile delivery methodologies, improve estimation accuracy, and ensure on-time execution across sprints, releases, and cross-team dependencies.
Proactively identify technical risks, system bottlenecks, and areas for architectural improvements; lead remediation and innovation efforts.
Represent Engineering in strategic planning forums, executive reviews, and technical steering committees.
Promote a DevOps culture and work closely with operations and security teams to ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, observability, and platform reliability.
