Job Description
Role Purpose
Providemulti-disciplinary engineering leadershipacross process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil/structural engineering for brownfield optimizations and capital expansion projects at AM/NS India plants. The role ensures safe,sustainableand operable designs aligned with business performance targets and seamless integration with procurement,constructionand operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead theengineering scope from concept to handover, including preparation and review ofPFDs, P&IDs, GA layouts, specifications, cause-and-effectmatricesand control narratives.
- Conduct and managedesign reviews and technical interfacesacross steelmaking units such asBlast Furnace (BF), BOF, DRI/EAF, Continuous Casting, Hot StripMilland utilities.
- Translate businessobjectivesrelated tocapacity expansion, product quality and decarbonizationinto technical design requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Integraterisk management and process safety practicesincluding HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL and Management of Change (MOC) into engineering designs and commissioning strategies.
- Work closely withprocurement teams for technical bid evaluations, vendorqualificationand FAT/SAT validation.
- Collaborate withproject controls teamstomaintainproject cost and schedule baselines.
- Ensure compliance withIndian statutory requirements, industrialcodesand AM/NS engineering standards.
- Supervise internal engineering teams and EPC contractors, manage cross-disciplineinterfacesand resolve engineering conflicts.
- Captureengineering lessons learnedand drive improvements to support future plant expansion phases.
Mandatory Experience
- 812 years of experience in engineering design and project delivery within heavy industries such as steel, metals, cement,refiningor large manufacturing plants.
- Minimum 35 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of iron and steelmaking processes including BF-BOF or DRI-EAF routes, rolling mills and plant utilities.
- Hands-on experience with risk assessment methodologies including HAZOP,LOPAand SIL analysis.
- Practical experience designing systems for commissioning, operability and industrial safety including LOTO and SIMOPS procedures.
- Experience working with EPC contractors,vendorsand cross-functional project teams in large industrial projects.

Preferred Qualifications
- B.E. /B.Techin Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
- M.Techor MBA is an advantage
- PMP / PRINCE2 certification or Functional Safety certification is preferred
- Experience withenergy efficiency projects, emissions reductioninitiativesor digital/advanced automation systems in manufacturing plants

- CAPEX project variancemaintainedwithin +/-5 percent
- Zero high-potential HSE incidents during engineering and commissioning
- Successful achievement ofReady for Start-Up (RFSU) and Ready for Operation (RFO)milestones
- Stable ramp-up of plant operations to nameplate production capacity
