Role Overview

We are looking for an Engineering Manager with strong architecture skills to lead the design and development of an AI-powered platform (ZeTA Zero Touch Automation).

This role requires a blend of hands-on technical depth, system architecture ownership, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Architecture Leadership

• Own the end-to-end architecture of a scalable, secure, and cloud-native platform
• Design and review system components including:
• Backend services (APIs, microservices)
• AI/LLM integration and RAG-based pipelines
• Data storage, search, and indexing
• Ensure architectural alignment with performance, scalability, security, and governance requirements
• Drive technical decisions, trade-offs, and long-term platform roadmap

Engineering Management

• Lead and mentor a team of backend, AI, and platform engineers
• Drive best practices in:
• Code quality
• Design reviews
• CI/CD
• Testing and observability
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams
• Ensure predictable delivery with high engineering standards

Delivery & Execution

• Translate product requirements into technical designs and execution plans
• Balance speed vs quality in delivery
• Identify and mitigate technical risks early
• Support release planning and production readiness

Required Skills & Experience

Core Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years in an engineering manager / technical lead role
• Strong experience in system and application architecture
• Hands-on experience with:
• Backend development (Java / Python / Node.js any one strong)
• REST APIs and microservices
• Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Strong understanding of:
• Distributed systems
• Scalability and performance
• Security and access control

AI / Platform Experience (Preferred)

• Experience integrating AI / LLM-based systems
• Familiarity with:
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Vector databases / search
• Prompt engineering and model orchestration
• Experience building developer platforms or internal tools is a plus

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in QA / Automation / DevOps platforms
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows
• Prior experience in enterprise or SaaS platforms

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Strong architectural thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Proven experience mentoring senior engineers
• Ownership mindset with a bias for action
