Purpose:

The Engineering Manager for Data & Analytics leads and grows a team of Data & Analytics engineers, fosters a hands-on learning culture, manages stakeholders and vendors, and drives strategic staffing. The role sets standards that enable autonomous, secure, and efficient engineering while ensuring reliable operations and continuous improvement of all data and analytics solutions.​‑on learning culture, manages stakeholders and vendors, and drives strategic staffing. Main Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead a team of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Data Architects—from hiring, to fun, growth and development.​
• Engineering Culture: Lead through example - continuously learning and experimenting with new technologies, building solutions hands-on, and coaching others. Create space and opportunities for team learning, foster collaboration, and confidently make informed technical decisions that inspire trust and growth.​
• Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships and expectations across technology teams.​
• Strategic Staffing: Own strategic staffing plans to best balance out people growth and engineering velocity.​
• Talent Vendors: Manage vendor strategy and operations, including talent, contracts, and cost optimization.​
• Autonomous Teams: Define standards and make it easy for data and analytics engineers to do the right thing while building in autonomy, compliance, security, cost efficiency and reliability.​
• Tech Operations: Ensure availability, reliability, pro-active maintenance and continuous improvement of all deployed artifacts.

Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent is a must.  
• Master’s degree in IT management, MCS, or equivalent would be a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering and technology roles​.
• 2+ years of experience in leadership and people management role​.
• Proven expertise with cloud computing service providers. Preferably Microsoft Azure.​
• Proven expertise with Lakehouse service providers. Preferably Databricks.​
• Ideal candidate has a background within at least one of the following roles: data engineer or platform architect​.
• Experience in cross functional collaboration, stakeholder management and team management would be essential for the role.
• Experience in working with matrix organization with Leadership Communication.
• Experience in partner/vendor lifecycle management including contracts management, cost/vendor spend optimization etc. will complement the role in a big way.
