Role overview:
As an Engineering Manager 2, you will lead a team of engineers and be responsible for driving the development and delivery of our financial products and services. You will play a critical role in shaping the technology strategy and ensuring that our engineering practices and processes are of the highest quality.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage an engineering team to deliver technical products
- Define the team's vision and technical roadmap and drive its execution
- Design, build and support technical solutions and systems with the highest quality
- Manage timelines and identify when deliverables are at risk, and formulate alternatives
- Work closely with engineering counterparts, product managers and business stakeholders to achieve company goals
- Identify, leverage, and build best-in-class engineering processes to maximise work quality and team productivity
- Coach, mentor, and support every team member to grow in their career aspirations
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, fluent English -Communicates effectively in all situations and creates an environment of open and effective communication
- Strong decision-making skills, metric-driven operations, and the ability to motivate and maximise productivity in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of technical concepts -Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems and event-driven architecture
- Ability to build scalable systems while thinking strategically, balancing short and long-term approaches
- Ability to work with multiple levels in the organisation with key business holders.
- Strong knowledge of best engineering practices
- 8-12 years of software development experience with 2-4 years of managerial experience
