Job Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with product owners & managers to understand and ultimately deliver the requested and suggested features designed to support Customer, to drive commercial business cases and efficiencies within reporting and analytics.
Enhances engineering velocity and quality by using AI copilots, config generation tools, and intelligent test automation to accelerate delivery, improve config quality, and standardize best practices across the team.
Design and implement integrations between Dayforce and HR/ retail systems (e.g., SAP SF,POS, inventory, traffic counters, out-of-system reporting capabilities).
Optimize scheduling algorithms to support dynamic staffing needs across multiple store formats and geographies.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, union agreements, and internal workforce policies.
Manage and mentor a team of engineers and consultants, promoting best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
Monitor system performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Support rollout of new features and enhancements across retail locations.
Maintain technical documentation and contribute to training and change management initiatives.
Own your teams data products (inc. ML products) and track continuous stability and benefits
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience in Dayforce HCM or Workforce Management engineering, with a strong focus on Dayforce.
Deep understanding of retail labor models, including part-time scheduling, seasonal staffing, and labor compliance.
Proficiency in Dayforce Advanced Scheduling, Time, Payroll, and HR Core modules.
Experience with system integrations using APIs, middleware, and ETL tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

Technology Responsibilities
Responsible for the technical delivery and quality of the products/projects and tech support, this includes adhere to D&T, compliance and regulatory ways of working for solution design, software engineering (DevOps), infrastructure, cybersecurity.
Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted development, including code copilots, automated testing, observability tools, and AI-powered DevOps or CI/CD enhancements.
Lead and guide the operational and technical support, timelines and dependencies of live applications: migrations, decommissioning, upgrades, patches.
Responsible for setup and continuous monitoring and health management of costs and infrastructure.
Process Improvement
Continuously evaluate and enhance engineering processes, methodologies, and tools within the context of the product line to improve efficiency and productivity.
Evangelist of DevOps principles especially automation and reliability. Ensure common objectives towards quality and velocity of product deliveries.
Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance reviews for engineering team members within the vertical team, providing feedback and assisting in career development.
Ability to lead and motivate technical teams.
Strong stakeholder management skills to navigate and align diverse perspectives while prioritizing product backlogs.
A servant-leader mindset that empowers teams while making informed decisions and managing risks
INTERFACE
Lead technical teams and be the driver and final approval of all enhancements, bug fixes and other updates.
Act as the facilitator from the Engineering team towards leadership and other stakeholders.
Communicate with Product Managers and leadership about resourcing and capacity in the engineering team.
Collaborate with technical teams to support integrations with POS, payroll, and HR systems.
