Job Title: Engineer - PPC

Division: Weir Minerals

Location: Bengaluru


Purpose of Role:

To ensure efficient production planning and control for Pumps and Projects through accurate demand planning, MRP execution, and capacity management, enabling on-time customer delivery and achievement of production and sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage long‑term and short‑term production plans aligned with business and customer demand.

  • Execute MRP in SAP PP, resolve exception messages, and perform material requirement planning and order scheduling.

  • Monitor Plan vs Actual performance, track daily production, and drive achievement of production and sales targets.

  • Monitor customer On‑Time Delivery (OTD) and implement corrective actions for schedule gaps.

  • Coordinate with SCM, Production, and Sales teams to manage demand changes and finished goods dispatches.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and half‑yearly production forecasts and support annual sales budgeting with the SIOP team.

  • Review customer orders, issue order confirmations, and act as a liaison between business and technical teams.

  • Review and propose safety stock levels, perform monthly stock forecasting, analytics, and end‑of‑month reporting.

  • Troubleshoot SAP planning and execution issues as required.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in Production Planning & Control within manufacturing or project‑based environments (pumps, heavy engineering, industrial equipment preferred).

  • Hands‑on experience with SAP PP, including MRP execution, exception message handling, and order scheduling.

  • Solid understanding of production planning, capacity planning, material requirements planning, and inventory control.

  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams such as Sales, SCM, Production, and SIOP.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to track Plan vs Actual performance and drive corrective actions.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools; experience in forecasting and operational analytics is an advantage.
