Engineer XMD

What does the job entail?

The Developer XMD focuses on operating and enhancing the Bremen specific XMD software solution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop basic features or modules of the solution (frontend and backend), conduct testing and debugging based on given test cases, and support go-live.
• Take-over of working software, monitor its health, availability and performance; solve service requests, incidents and problems; regular duty in XMD on-call group.

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications:

Education :

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in software support and development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English

Technical skills (mandatory):

Operating Systems:

• Proficient in working with Windows operating systems

Programming Languages and Frameworks:

• Expertise in C# .NET, including .NET Framework 4.8, .NET 8

Web Technologies:

• Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP basics; knowledge of Angular is a plus

Architecture and Development Methodologies:

• Understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles; knowledge of MVC pattern; basic experience with unit testing; understanding asynchronous programming, specifically async/await

Databases:

• Good SQL skills

Error Handling & Logging:

• Understanding of structured error handling; knowledge of logging frameworks (e.g., Serilog, log4net)

Development Environment:

• Experienced use of Visual Studio

Documentation:

• Ability to write clear code comments and simple technical documentation

Technical skills (optional):

Version Control:

• Experience with GIT

CI/CD:

• Experience with Azure DevOps

Collaboration:

• Experience of agile development process

Analysis & Optimization:

• First experience with performance optimization and debugging tools
