Job Description
Role - Manager Employee Relations
Qualification - Full time Graduate in Law / LLB
MBA / MSW from a well-known institute is preferred
Experience -
- 7+ years of relevant ER experience in leading organizations
- Strong hands-on experience managing labour litigation across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience handling legacy or complex employment matters preferred
- Experience dealing with statutory authorities (DLC/ALC, PF, ESIC, Factory)
- Proven exposure to ER risk advisory and investigations
- Deep knowledge of Indian employment laws and compliance frameworks Prior employment law practice exposure preferred
- Lead and manage labour and employment legal matters across India, with end-to-end ownership of closed units, legacy establishments, and locations without HRBP support.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external counsel; drive case strategy, quality of representation, and timely progress of proceedings.
- Conduct detailed fact-finding, prepare case briefs, and draft responses/notices for courts and statutory authorities.
- Maintain and periodically review the contingent liability and litigation tracker, providing risk insights and provisioning inputs to Finance and HR leadership.
- Liaise with DLC/ALC, Factory Department, PF, ESIC, and other statutory authorities as required.
- Coordinate monthly, half-yearly, and annual statutory returns for closed and legacy locations.
- Manage court appearances in coordination with counsel wherever required.
- Negotiate legal fees, finalize engagement terms, and ensure compliant onboarding of advocates.
- Build ER capability through training and advisory to HR and business leaders.
- Ensure audit readiness and manage inspections across locations where applicable.
